This book was obviously written by someone from China; the names, customs, culture, emphasis on rank or position of influence, the way of speaking, the use of full names every time they are used and many other things stand out glaringly as being from a foreign culture. The translation to English is poor in quality and seems to be done by someone who speaks Chinese as a first language and English as a poor second, requiring you the reader to fill in missing words and substitute more appropriate words and phrasing to help it make sense. There is a very narrow range of idioms, unusual over the top adjectives, inappropriate metaphors, and laughable jargon that leaves the reader feeling like he is wading through a poorly translated user manual for a Chinese electronics product. The author seldom uses a sentence where he can put in a paragraph or two to say the same thing. The book is very short covering too small a period of time, I assume so he can sell more books. That said, if you can get past the ridiculous presentation, the story is really quite entertaining, unique and well worth the effort; it kept me coming back in anticipation for the next book in the series.
Great story, but we're going to have to read 20 books to make progress because the pages are filled with endless and worthless descriptions and all the books annoyingly end on cliff hangers as I'd the author wrote one story and then just chopped it up into a bunch of books to make more profit
Zero Wing's guild leader, the mysterious Black Flame, and his team are back to grind the noses of the bad, players and mobs, into the grit. I love this series and find it literally addictive. While I am also reading it on gravitytales, it is really nice to be able to read it a chunk at a time.It is interesting that the advantage of being reincarnated is diminishing as the current path diverges further from that of the past.Really good job on the translation and editing, now I can't wait for book 7 so get moving team....NEED MY FIX...NOW!!!!
Honestly I really do enjoy these Asian culture inspired books. This was the original one that I first read and it still is my favorite series. The only time that I would actually make along the negative side will be the constant repetition of facts or statements that come along with events. As an example humping tiger was extremely Furious he was red in the face he was extremely proficiently angered. And then it goes on for like 3 Pages just describing this dudes anger or his thought process of what he was angry when it generically is pretty simple to see why he is angry. I'll be on that I enjoy the series and I hope that he writes many many more books going all the way to the hundreds of levels for the main character
The main character wraps up a few quests and sets the stage for his guilds development but in his own way, denying the suggestions of his officers and going with his own plan that is of course hidden from us.Some interesting things happen but the tempo is slowing down as more things are added to the plot. Not to mention the difficulty of remembering everyone, their ability and equipment, and plot developments.
My biggest complaint is it takes so long to release the next book. I read some of it at gravity tales, but I prefer the book form. It is still the best one found on wuxia and litrpg.
I’m in love with this series and even more so how the translation gives an insight to other cultures’ thinking. Anyway, the story is fun and compelling. Enjoy!
