This is an amazing Absolute edition worthy of the format! It's a bloody perfect work of art! The Absolute Preacher edition is definetly hands down the best of the several different titles of Absolute editions that I own. The box art by Glenn Fabry instantly grabs you. Once the seal is broken and the book is removed your rewarded with an inlayed beautiful faux leather bound book collecting issues 1 - 26. Bonus features include the Gone to Texas letters pages from issues 1 - 26, the pin ups from issue 50, and the full script from issue 11. Also features a new forward by Seth Rogen and Evan Goldberg. Don't miss this edition if your a fan of Preacher or looking to join the Congreation!
just recieved this in the mail yesterday and it is by far the best absolute edition of any comic that i currently own. The slipcase is absolutley beautiful the books spine and face are as well with the gold design. if you have never read preacher and want to find an out of bounds comic that comes collected in a beautiful case this is the perfect book for you but let me warmn you it is extremely graphic and not reccomended for younger readers
I managed to pick this up when the price dropped to around 80 bucks and WOW am I glad I finally broke down and bought this. The book is huge, 15 inches tall, over 700 pages, rather than having sketches and things in the sidelines they blew up the artwork to fit and it looks great. The presentation itself is also pretty amazing in itself, I included a picture of the book out of it's case with a CD next to it to show size.
An absolutely amazing collection. The outer case itself is cool, but it's the book itself that's really breathtaking in it's detail. Highly recommended for any fan of Preacher. And for new readers, this is the way to enjoy it for the first time as well
This book is MASSIVE! And I absolutely love everything about it. It's great quality, very well made. Feels very heavy and solid. The protective cover/case is great and all of the extra artwork is fantastic. I can't wait to buy Vol. 2!
I suppose this series deserves all the wild acclaim it received. The reason I can't give this volume a 5-star recommendation for everyone is because these books are, well, Not Cheap. I got both volumes thanks to an Amazon gift card. I normally only splurge on Absolutes if I know I'm getting page after page of eye-popping, mind blowing sci-fi/fantasy artwork, and that's just not the case here. The raw story is accompanied by stark panels that mostly feature just the characters' faces with minimal background. That's appropriate for the material, but left me wondering if I really needed it in this format. If this is an all-time favorite of yours, and you've been waiting for a deluxe edition, you'll be delighted. The books are as beautifully printed and bound as any in the DC line. If you're just curious or on a budget, you'll probably be okay with the paperbacks.
High quality, nicely done a great amount of effort went into saving this series for posterity.
