A wonderful mix of articles sure to fascinate the digest fan with fiction, lists and editorial content. Top drawer.
Super excellent!
Covers all genres of historic and current digests. Not particularly interested in the short fiction stories, but more than makes up for it with fascinating articles about well known and obscure digests. Peter Enfantino's review of every story in "Shock Mystery Tales" was a highlight. Highly recommended.
This latest edition of The Digest Enthusiast is probably my favorite so far. It's a bit racier than past issues. If there is a theme running through it, it seems to be ladies in danger, which transcends the various genres, which are all represented, from suspense to science fiction. I particularly enjoyed the article about Criswell Predicts. I'm just old enough to remember when he was big, and the tacky artwork from the 60s and 70s brought a smile. Another enjoyable read from Richard Kraus and the gang.
Another outstanding issue and if you don't have the first three issues, make sure you get them all. I collect vintage paperback fiction digests but TDE covers ALL kinds of digests, from Archie comic digests to issues of FATE, from a well-written exploration of famous psychic Criswell (in this issue #4) to Peter Enfantino's valuable story abstracts from obscure and arcane digests of yore. And oh yeah, there's some pretty strong original short fiction in each issue as well. Beautifully produced, well-edited, this is one of my favorite periodicals, full of valuable bibliographical detail but all written in an entertaining and fun matter. Highly recommended.
