About the Author
Christian J. Triola holds a Bachelor's Degree in Music (Jazz Studies) and a Master's Degree in Education, both from The University of Akron. This is one in a series of instructional books for guitar. Experienced player, or novice, you'll learn from this book. It is clearly written, and well illustrated. This volume, the Open Position, is the foundation you need to become a better player.
I knew right away that this was going to be a 5-star book. But the only complaint I have is the choice of binding. This is a book with a lot of sheet music, obviously, and as such it should have been bound into a lay-flat book, so that it can be used on a music stand, or even to stay open on a chair or any other improvised surface. I would have paid a few extra dollars for this fantastic book, just to have it in lay-flat binding.I really hate to give it anything less than 5 stars, because it is a fantastic book. I just hope my review can be taken as constructive criticism and that is alerts the published to fix this issue for the next edition.
A very fine first level guitar study
Very happy with the ground covered; for students usually left to their own devices in finding useful upper position music to practice.
Good book for beginners or people starting over, like me.
